Ray – Senior Regional Manager

Ray joined the Company as a Group Account Executive before becoming a Regional Manager in 2001 and then Senior Regional Manager in 2009 - before joining Personal Group Ray was employed as a Retail Branch Manager.

The role of a Group Account Executive is demanding, challenging and yet rewarding. To be successful you need skills and personal attributes that will drive you to succeed. Self motivation, determination and a will to keep going when the odds are against you are all necessary in this work. Additionally, self discipline and self organisation are equally important in being successful.

Reflecting on my own career, I started with the company in 1998 as a Group Account Executive. In my first week in the field I broke the company record for the highest weekly production as a trainee. As my career progressed, I continued to break records. This inspired me to work on improving my sales skills and knowledge of the business. I was determined to build on my success not only as an exec but also as part of a team.

As a Group Account Executive, I became one of the top 3 execs in the company reaping many rewards along the way.

I was especially motivated by upgrading my company car to the car of my choice, five-star holidays and many other luxury incentives.

In 2001 I was promoted to Regional Manager. This was a huge challenge in an environment that was fast paced and constantly changing. As I have developed in this role I have continued to succeed in building successful sales teams and break further records as a manager. I consider that my success has been achieved not only by my own determination, focus and hard work but also by the support and guidance of our company’s management.

In my twelfth year with Personal Group, I still believe that this is a people focused organisation. The company believes in its employees and rewards those who achieve their targets. Personal Group invests time and money in training and improving resources for all its employees to carry out their work to a high standard. The company continues to grow from year to year and this is reflective of its achievement by being ‘the best of the best’.
