Exercise of options and sale of shares
The Company has today been informed by Dr John Barber, Finance Director, of the following transactions in ordinary shares of 5p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares").

Limited (a company wholly owned by the Company
which operates the Company's All Employee
Share Option Plan (AESOP) and Company's Share

4,239 Ordinary shares by his wife T M Kennard
to Personal Group Trustees Limited at a
price of 300.0 pence per share.

Exercise
of options over 20,000 Ordinary Shares in
the Company at a price of 186.5 pence per
share.

Following these transactions, which relate to
the funding of the exercise of options, Dr John
Barber has increased his beneficial holding to
324,363 shares, representing 1.06 per cent of
the issued share capital of the company.
